Safetrack Increases Safety In Coventry
50lm of Safetrack Crack Infill, Stirling Lloyd’s crack and open joint repair product, was applied by Stirling Lloyd’s Technical Services department in a trial on Coundon Wedge Road in Coventry.
Following safety concerns raised by the public regarding the road surface, due to the presence of longitudinal cracks and fretted joints, Coventry City Council requested a trial of this highly durable repair product.
The high levels of skid resistance provided by the safe application process of the cold applied Safetrack Crack Infill, which eliminates the risks associated with ‘hot trades’, impressed the Council during the trial. In the six months since the application the product has shown itself to be durable and resistant, maintaining its in-situ performance, even through the extreme icy weather experienced earlier this year.
The outcome: Since the product was trialled safety concerns on the road have been alleviated and Coventry City Council are looking at other sites where they can use Safetrack Crack Infill and other products in the Stirling Lloyd Highways Maintenance range.
