Speedy Demonstration on Northampton A-Road
Safetrack Crack Infill, Stirling Lloyd’s ‘fretted’ joint and crack repair product, has recently impressed in Northamptonshire following a speedy demonstration on a busy A road.
30lm of Safetrack Crack Infill was applied to the A4500, Wellingborough Road, which had been suffering from ‘fretted’ joints in the middle of the carriageway, in a demonstration to MGWSP (the joint venture between May Gurney and WSP Group) Northamptonshire Highways.
The speed of application and cure was highly impressive; unlike the method usually used, which requires the cutting out of the defective joint and reinstating the surface, which would typically take half a day. In contrast this application of Safetrack Crack Infill, including the traffic management, preparation of the surface, application of the product and return to service, took just one hour - representing large savings in both cost and time.
The outcome: the live demonstration impressed so much so that MGWSP Northamptonshire Highways are set to use Safetrack Crack Infill on other roads in the county in the near future.
